The Team Health and Social Care got an invitation from the Russian World Skills Team Health and Social care for the participation on the Russian National Skills 2019 in Kazan We gratefully accepted this invitation and set off for Kazan in May 2019.
After the visa and all other administrative tasks had been clarified, we set off on 18 May 2019 with participants from other professions. After a stopover in Moscow, we flew straight on to Kazan. Already at the airport we were warmly welcomed by Team Health and Social Care. They took us by chauffeur to the Hotel Korston in Kazan, which is about 40 minutes from the venue Kazan Arena. Also in the hotel we were already expected. Everything was perfectly prepared. A short tour through the million city Kazan was on the program. So the journey to the hotel was already over and we went tired from our journey to bed.
Amélia had a good night’s sleep while the experts were preparing everything for the National Championships. There were autobuses ready to go to the Kazan Arena. After the check-in and all the formalities that had to be completed, we went to the Test Pojects. Here, too, we were warmly welcomed and immediately included in the team. After the clarification of formalities and an introductory session we were invited on a tour through Kazan. Beautiful buildings, hospitality and a lot of love were shown to us. It was a wonderful day with nice and unforgettable impressions, dear people.
After the Opening Event the Competition started the following day. For the first time Amélia’s skills and Gerhard’s expert knowledge were put to the test. But after getting used to it we did well through the first day of competition. At this point we would like to thank the volunteers who helped us at any time of the day or night. The first day of the competition lasted a little longer in the evening. But the next two days went well and we got the best out of the experience that we could got. It’s a pity that we had to leave again on Thursday afternoon and couldn’t attend the closing ceremony anymore. But I watched it very closely on the live channel at home and can say that here, as already in the Opening Ceremony, an excellent and perfect show was delivered. Hats off…
All in all, beautiful days and an instructive but hard week. Thanks to all who made this experience possible for us, who supported and accompanied us in Kazan, brought us closer to the advantages of Russian culture and of course to all those who supported us from Switzerland. Thank you!
We came as strangers and left as friends. We like to think back to this wonderful week with all the impressions. — mit Amélia Brossy.
